Project Safe is incredibly excited to be expanding its Superheroes Camp program to two weeks this year! Superheroes Camp provides children who have experienced domestic violence with a fun, interactive, and therapeutic environment to heal from the trauma of witnessing the domestic violence.
Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. Camp is open to children ages 9-12 who have previously witnessed domestic violence. To be considered for camp, the child must meet the age requirement, have previously witnessed domestic violence (domestic violence cannot be ongoing or current), and complete a pre-assessment with Project Safe.
Each day, campers will engage with the group to explore coping skills that will assist with emotional regulation and help the camper manage difficult emotions that stomp from trauma. As always, Project Safe services and programs are free of charge. Lunch and snacks are provided to campers each day!
